She is the youngest daughter of Inez and Gösta Fredriksson and grew up in a very poor family. Her parents had to work very hard to raise their five children, which meant Fredriksson spent most of her time with her siblings sisters, Anna-Lisa, Ulla-Britt and Tina and brother Sven-Arne.

Fredrikkson and Gessle became friends when they were both struggling to establish themselves. It was with Gessle’s encouragement that Fredrikkson started her solo career, debuting with the album ‘Het Vind’ which featured the single “Ännu doftar kärlek”. By this time, although Fredrikkson’s career had taken off, Gessle was still waiting to make a mark. After many deliberations, the duo announced their decision to team up in 1986 and thus ‘Roxette’ was formed. As members of ‘Roxette’, the duo released their first album, ‘The Heartland Café’ which featured the hit single “Neverending Love”. With the album ‘Pearls of Passion’, both Gessle and Fredricksson found international acclaim. Some of their popular albums include ‘Look Sharp’, ‘Joyride’, ‘Crash! Boom! Bang!’, ‘Charm School’ and ‘Good Karma’.
